Even with a rock-solid spider pool, you must respect robots.txt rules (parsed using a library like robots-txt-parser) and avoid overloading servers. Set a polite crawl delay (e.g., 1 second per page) for commercial sites, and never send requests faster than the server can handle. Implement a canary check: first crawl a small sample of URLs to estimate the server’s load tolerance, then adjust the rate accordingly.
